Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U Fandom and Hatedom
Who cares what version you play.
Video Game Fandom
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U is the fourth installment of the Super Smash Bros. series that was released in 2014 making it the first in the series to be released in the 2010s as well as the first series to be in a handheld console. It features new characters such as a Villager from Animal Crossing, Mega Man, Little Mac from Punch-Out, Mii, Lady Palutena from Kid Icarus, Pac-Man, Robin aka the avatar from Fire Emblem Awakening and so much more. The game also features new content such as newly arranged music, new stages, new items, new trophies, Amiibo, and new game modes. On the 3DS, it features game modes only exclusive to the 3DS version such as Smash Run, A Classic mode that plays more like a board game, cel-shaded graphics, and StreetSmash. The Wii U version has graphics that are 1080p high definition, 8 Player Smash, a very different classic mode that would feature Co-op mode, Smash Tour, Special Orders, a vast compatibility of controllers and the returning features like event mode and a stage builder. Both versions have a different number and choices of stages whereas most of the stages in the 3DS version would be based on handheld games while the Wii U would have most stages based on Home Console games. This game was met with favorable reviews with the Wii U version getting the most praise. It was also the first time that the game would have downloadable content that would mostly consist of Mii Fighter Costumes both original and based on other characters (Like The Inklings from Splatoon, Isabelle from Animal Crossing New Leaf, King K. Rool from Donkey Kong Country, Chrom from Fire Emblem Awakening, Geno from Super Mario RPG, Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia and many more) stages such as some returning stages (like Dream Land 64, Peach's Castle 64 and Hyrule Castle 64) as well as some new ones (Like Miiverse and Super Mario Maker) and returning characters (Mewtwo from Pokemon Red and Blue, Lucas from Mother 3 and Roy from Fire Emblem the Binding Blade) and new faces (Ryu from Street Fighter, Cloud from Final Fantasy 7, Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates and Bayonetta). The game also has gotten a toxic following and a hatedom as well.
Why Both Sides Are Toxic (Especially the Fandom and the Wii U version, Good Golly)
Both cannot handle other people's opinions on both games.
The Fandom treats the Wii U version like if it were A gift from God and will lash out to anyone who likes the 3DS version.
They accuse the 3DS version simply because how the Ice Climbers were cut in the roster
Before Both Games were announced, you got the Super Smash Bros. Community on the now-defunct Miiverse where the community is filled with off-topic posts, Melee Purists, edgelords, perverts, little kids and manchildren who will cause fights for stupid reasons (Like the Ridley wars).
Speaking of off-topic posts, many people in the community we're part of the Shrek Ironic Fandom when they would post anything related to Shrek. They were also part of other fandoms as well, mainly the ones that are memetic.
They treat a fan-made Miiverse Character named Bigley as if he was the God of MiiVerse. This is most likely because of the Ridley Wars.
They spam many memes such as "No-Nerf Greninja", "I Suppose I Get My Chance Another Day (Chrom)" and "Im Really Feeling It (Shulk)" to the point where it gets annoying quickly.
This Fandom is known to have some of the most ungrateful moments in history when it comes to newcomer reveals.
When Wii Fit Trainer was announced, many people got upset simply because it was a character they don't like. Although later on, some even have the hots for her.
When Greninja got announced, the Mewtwo fans raged when they thought they saw Mewtwo in Greninja's reveal trailer and would somehow believe that Greninja replaced Mewtwo. Thankfully, Mewtwo came back as DLC so they can shut up and stop whining.
Even worse, when Lucina got announced as a fighter, the Chrom Fandom as well as many other raged like manchildren simply because it was not Chrom. Years later, however, Chrom did become a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate so they can stop raging.
Much worse, When Corrin got announced as a fighter, many of them started hating Corrin for stupid reasons such as "Weeb Trash", "No One Asked For This". What makes this even worse is when the Corrin haters started the "Too Many Fire Emblem Characters" excuse.
The worst one of all was when Bayonetta won the Fighter Ballot and many people were leaving hate comments, drew hate art and even raged when she won simply because they wanted another character to win the Ballot.
Speaking of the Fighter Ballot, while the idea looks good on paper, it was executed poorly simply because people would request characters that were already confirmed as an Assist Trophy (Like Waluigi, Takamaru, Jeff, Midna, Lyn and Ashley) or even unlikely characters (Like Shrek, Goku, Sora, Scorpion from Mortal Kombat, just to name a few).
When the Fighter Ballot was still up, many would get into mean spirited wars on which character should become playable in Super Smash Bros.
Back when MiiVerse was still running, the Miiverse stage consisted of pictures that show posts that are either Off-topic, Inappropriate, stupid or even controversial. The Miiverse stage looks fine on paper but the execution of it was a bad idea.
They didn't stop bashing on Smash Tour just because of how bad it was. Even if they had a point, there is no reason to bash on it.
Sometimes the Miis and Stages in Stage Builder can also be as bad or even worse than the Miiverse Posts.
Some even had the hots for not only Wii Fit Trainer but also Palutena and Female Corrin. WHAT?
You also got a competitive environment which is also bad as well. mainly the Wii U version who only had 5 LEGAL STAGES (excluding Omega versions and Miiverse) AND 2 COUNTERPICKS OUT OF 55. Thankfully, the Hazard toggle in Ultimate might increase this number but for now, if you watch a lot of Smash 4 tournaments, you might be sick of hearing Animal Crossing music all the freaking time.
Many of them are Wolfaboos or rabid Wolf fans who raged when Wolf got cut in Smash 4 and would hate on Falco. They fail to understand that Falco has been in Melee and Brawl especially because Falco Lombardi was popular during and in Star Fox 64, and cutting Falco is like cutting Luigi and Falco was added in Melee because he was popular in Star Fox 64.
They BASH on Lucina and Dark Pit as if they were the spawns of Satan simply because of their moveset and because they are clones of Marth/Roy and Pit respectively (which are later called Echo Fighters in Ultimate).
Ever since the Gematsu leaks came to existence, many people treat it like if it were the gospel simply because it got most predictions right and raged when it was confirmed false. If you don't know what the Gematsu leaks are, it's a series of leaks a series of major and seemingly credible leaks of Super Smash Bros. 4's playable roster reported by Sal Romano of the gaming site Gematsu after being given by an unknown user. starting at E3 2013, they most of the time got many of the newcommer predictions right, but it also had made multiple incorrect assumptions, such as predicting reveal dates wrong, predicting characters under general as opposed to specific names, and missing certain characters. The characters that were on the leak were Villager (Who is referred to "Animal Crossing Guy"), Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Little Mac, Pac-Man, Mii Fighter, Shulk, Palutena, Chrom, Chorus Kids, and a "Pokemon from Pokemon X/Y (Who was later revealed to be Greninja). Rosalina was the only newcomer that was not on the leak but the leak was fully debunked when Chrom was confirmed to be in Robin's Final Smash as well as Robin and Lucina being playable instead (eventually Chrom did become playable in Ultimate).
Some of them were former Smash Fans who hate it because it got a lower age rating than Melee and Brawl. (It should be noted that Brawl and Smash 4 got a higher age rating than Melee in Europe, and in Japan it has always been issued with a Cero A rating since the franchise’s inception.)
Both respect opinions of the game.
They do have a point about Dark Pit.
Still a lot of good and wholesome fan art and memes.
Some pics on Miiverse can be well done. same can be said about the stages.
Not all of them hate Sakurai.
Not all of them hate some of the newcomers like Lucina and Dark Pit.
They do have a point about Smash Tour.
Some liked both versions.
Not all of them requested unlikely characters.
They calmed down ever since 2017 and the existence of Ultimate.
They do have a point about Smash 4 lacking villains.
Not all of them were obsessed with some of the cut characters like Wolf.
Some hate it for a fair reason EX:Less Unlockable Characters and Lackluster Content.
