IMDb (Internet Movie Database) is an online database of information related to films, television programs, home videos, video games, and streaming content online – including cast, production crew, and personnel biographies, plot summaries, trivia, fan, and critical reviews, and ratings. Originally a fan-operated website, the database is owned and operated by IMDb.com, Inc., a subsidiary of Amazon. IMDb began as a movie database on the Usenet group "rec.arts.movies" in 1990 and moved to the web in 1993. The database had been expanded to include additional categories of filmmakers and other demographic material as well as trivia, biographies, and plot summaries. This community is somehow toxic.
Why They Should Not Watch Hollywood Hits and TV Favorites
Thanks to the rating system, these idiots make ratings that are inaccurate for example, the nostalgiatards managed to 1-star bomb Ben 10 (2016) or how A Serbian Film getting a 5.1/10 despite the content being taboo in almost everywhere.
Some reviewers make up reviews that do not make sense. For example, one person made a review on the Pinky Malinky page that states how the show supports Satan when the show has nothing to do with religion.
False reviews such as the ones involving Cory in the House or Strawinsky and the Mysterious House.
Some reviewers are also moral guardians such as the negative reviews on Conker's Bad Fur Day which they're mostly only complaining about the mature content rather than the gameplay, music, sound, mechanics, etc. Another example is when a moral guardian wrote this for SMG4.
These idiots make negative reviews that are poorly written such as the one involving Star Wars: The Force Awakens and A Star Is Born.
Some users would make up some lazy reviews as well such as the ones involving The Emoji Movie when one review would say "Don't watch it, you'll waste your life!!! Watch Spider-verse instead!!!".
A lot of reviewers are also very harsh as well. For example, some of the reviews in Caillou would have mean spirited titles such as "Caillou's voice is like Chinese water torture" or "PBS should be ashamed". Another example would be how a TTG review would say "Christina Miller you have done it this time"
Even nostalgiatards are seen in user reviews. For example, the Raimitards or some mean people would be present in the reviews of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Examples include "Spider-Man The Parody", "I miss Sam Raimi...", or " Bad, Marvel's self-sabotaging with jokes. Raimi's Spider-Man 2 still the best".
If you have an unpopular opinion on a movie or TV show, there's a pretty good chance you're review will have more dislikes than likes.
Because it's a free site that anyone can edit, users are notorious for adding false information. beckyspark aka the infamous Rebecca Spark / naturecat1998 has to be the worst example, as she added a page about a fake show called Fred and the Nature Gang, which she actually believes is real.
The Only Redeeming Quality
Not all the reviewers are like this since some could have legit reasons to like/dislike certain things.
