Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is a live-action fantasy film released in 1971 directed by Mel Stuart. This movie is based on the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The film tells the story of a boy named Charlie Bucket who founds a Golden Ticket and visit's Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. The film may have flopped in the box office, it had gotten a lot of positive reviews and during the mid-1980s, it experienced a spike in popularity thanks in large part to repeated television broadcasts. There was also a second adaptation of the book in 2005 directed by Tim Burton. It also has a toxic fandom that not even Willy Wonka himself would not be really delighted about.
First off, they are notorious for over glorifying the infamous scene where Violet Beauregarde swells up like a blueberry, especially the 2005 version. Yes, its fine to have a fetish but it takes more than one scene to make a good movie. In turn, they gave both films and the scene itself a bad reputation.
Some go as far as only watching the movies just for that scene instead of the story.
They are filled with Nostalgia tards who treasure the 1971 film like a gift from God.
Some fans don't realize that the 1971 movie was based on the 1964 novel. sounds familiar to three, otherfandoms don't you think?
Both the 1971 and the 2005 fans treat Willy Wonka and Violet Beaurgarde like they were some religious figures.
The fanboys and fangirls even said they want to marry them where in reality, you can't just marry a fictional character and to make things worse, Violet is only like 10 years old, which is considered pedophilia
They won't stop acting immature about the infamous tunnel scene in both movies, especially the 1971 version.
They overuse a lot of the film's content to the point where it's annoying.
They also praise Wonka's "Pure Imagination" song to no end.
The 8 Golden Tickets
There are some mature fans who do respect opinions.
There is still great fan art and memes (such as Condesending Wonka) of the Wonka franchise.
Some know that the book existed first then the movies.
Some of the fans actually do like the 2005 adaptation, and if you’re lucky enough, you might find someone who also enjoys the Tom and Jerry and Willy Wonka crossover as well..
They do have a point about Tom and Jerry: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory being an awful and pointless crossover.
They paid their respects to many of the 1971's casts deaths such as Gene Wilder and Denise Nickerson.
They have a point about the tunnel scene being disturbing for children.
Not all of them adore the movie in a toxic manner.
