When a critically acclaimed franchise becomes really toxic.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is a Japanese manga series about gaming written and illustrated by Kazuki Takahashi. It was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine between September 30, 1996 and March 8, 2004 and licensed by 4Kids Back in 2001. This Anime was a critical acclaim but of course it gained a toxic Fandom and Hatedom.

Why Both Of Them Needs to be Mind Crushed by Yami Yugi

Fandom

  1. They overglorify the First Yu-Gi-Oh! Series of 1999 as the true original Yu-Gi-Oh!.
  2. They exalt the Yu-Gi-Oh! spin-offs while they never liked the original.
  3. They complain about the filler arcs from the Original Yu-Gi-Oh! like the Virtual World arc and the Waking the Dragons arc.
  4. They overrate Joey Wheeler as a better Duelist than Yami Yugi and Seto Kaiba. Its like saying that Krillin is a Better Z-Fighter than Goku.
  5. They also overpraise Alexis from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and treated her like the best character of the franchise.
  6. Speaking of GX, they overpraised GX as the best anime and best Yu-Gi-Oh! Series.
  7. They hated the 4Kids Dub of 5Ds because of plot-holes.
  8. People complained about 4Kids never dubbing the 4th Season of GX!
  9. They complain about Arc-V and Vrains because they killed the Yu-Gi-Oh! Franchise.
  10. They highly Overrate Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters (The First Yu-Gi-Oh! series Dubbed by 4Kids and also the 2nd Yu-Gi-Oh! series in japan) as the best and only good Yu-Gi-Oh! series thats dubbed by 4Kids.
  11. Some of them draw Rule 34 of the characters who are only children.
  12. They think that Duel Masters is a rip off to Yu-Gi-Oh! when it's actually not.

Hatedom

  1. They called it a "Magic the Gathering Rip-off", When it's really not.
  2. Like the Digimon Hatedom, they called the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime a Pokémon rip-off (specifically the TCG). Just because both have card games and monsters that fight doesn't mean that it's a Pokemon clone when both games play with different mechanics.
  3. They complain about one of the duels from the original Yu-Gi-Oh! taking between 4-6 episodes. Even one of the fights from DBZ takes even longer than the duels from the original Yu-Gi-Oh!.
  4. They're part of the Dragon Ball Z Fandom and the Pokémon Fandom and Hatedom.
  5. As usual to the 4kids haters, they bashed the 4Kids dub of Yu-Gi-Oh mainly because of the typical reasons for hating 4Kids: censorships, americanization, name changes and the voice acting!
    • What they didn't know is that some of their censorships and changes also fixed numerous plotholes which was improved from the original Japanese version. For example, there was a scene that stated what happened to Pegasus's wife which was just a filler conversation between Yugi's friends and Bakura in the original Japanese version. But in the 4Kids dub, Pegasus himself gives a full internal monologue about it, and his voice actor did a great job delivering it.
  6. They preferred LittleKuriboh's abridged version over the original Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters!
  7. They hated the Yu-Gi-Oh! spin-offs such as Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds and even the Yu-Gi-Oh! Movie.
  8. They warn anyone not to watch nor play the Yu-Gi-Oh! card games.

Redeeming Qualities

Fandom

  1. Some Yu-Gi-Oh! fans are nice and respect others' opinions.
  2. They do have a point about Zexal being the worst of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Series.
  3. Some Calm and Mature Fans of the Original Yu-Gi-Oh!

Hatedom

  1. Not all Yu-Gi-Oh! haters are toxic, as mature haters exist just to point out it's flaws.
  2. They also respect that series for it's good qualities and others' opinions as well
